DSP-1181

We try and bring you the latest news via the blog and I’m pleased to announce the DSP-1181.

No, its not a digital signal processor chip but a new molecule developed by a British start-up Exscientia and Japanese pharmaceutical firm Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma.

So, what’s the relevance? Well, it’s an AI designed drug which is being brought faster to market than any other drug. Typically, conventional development can take 5 years but DSP-1181 made it in just 12 months thanks to the AI algo.

Phase 1 trials will start shortly in Japan and if proved successful, trials will commence globally. This drug has been designed to help people with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) but there are plans to develop other new drugs in the pipeline.
